Joan was born in Maple Ridge she grew up in the Kooteneys, and then Cloverdale, B.C. Joan attended Douglas College taking Art, drafting and various classes. The following year she graduated with her Real Estate Licence from the University of British Columbia.

Joan has two children - 25 & 27 years old as well as being a Foster Mom of two more children - 24 & 25, now graduated and working.

She enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming, singing, music, gourmet cooking, and golf. Her quiet time consists of reading, writing, gardening and the outdoors.

How to make moving and saying goodbye fun.

Have a party for the specific purpose of saying goodbye to your friends and neighbours. Hold it a month or two before your actual move. Make this a strictly informal time with an atmosphere that's warm and friendly. This will probably be an emotional time, but it also helps you realize these people will remain your friends, even though you will be separated by distance.
